How to Install A-Radar
A-Radar runs on your own Mac or Windows computer. Pick your system below — installing takes about two minutes.
You'll see a one-time security prompt — that's normal. Because A-Radar is newly released software delivered directly to members, macOS and Windows show a quick "are you sure?" message the first time you open it. It does not mean the app is unsafe. Just follow the steps below to allow it once. (More on this near the bottom.)
Before you start
- Mac: an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, or newer) running macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later. (Intel-Mac support is coming — email support if you have an Intel Mac.)
- Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Installs just for you — no administrator password needed.
- A broadband connection (the download is roughly 50–100 MB).
- Your A-Radar license key — it's in your member area, next to the downloads.
🍎 Install on macOS
- Download the
A-Radar ATS.dmg file from your member area.
- Open the .dmg (double-click it), then drag the “A-Radar ATS” icon into the Applications folder shown in the window.
- Open the app from your Applications folder (double-click A-Radar ATS). macOS will show a message like “Apple could not verify ‘A-Radar ATS’ is free of malware.” — this is the expected one-time prompt.
- Allow it once — the steps depend on your macOS version:
- macOS 14 or earlier: Control-click (right-click) the app icon → choose Open → click Open again in the dialog.
- macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer: click Done/OK on the message, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section, and click Open Anyway next to “A-Radar ATS was blocked.” Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
- After you allow it once, A-Radar opens normally every time from then on.
If you see “A-Radar ATS is damaged and can’t be opened”: that's the same security block wearing a different label (common on freshly downloaded apps). Use the
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway step above. Still stuck? See
Troubleshooting.
🪟 Install on Windows
- Download the installer (named like
A-Radar-ATS-Setup-0.1.1.exe) from your member area.
- If your browser warns that the file “isn’t commonly downloaded,” click the ⋯ (or the arrow) next to it → Keep.
- Run the installer. Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Follow the setup steps. A-Radar installs just for your user (no admin password). You can opt to add a desktop shortcut.
- Launch A-Radar ATS from your Start menu (or the desktop shortcut).
If the installer won’t start: right-click the downloaded .exe → Properties → if there's an Unblock checkbox at the bottom, tick it → OK, then run it again.
Activate your license
- When A-Radar opens, its dashboard appears in a window.
- Go to the Account & Setup panel.
- Paste your license key (from your member area) into the license field and click Activate.
- That's it. You can start in the built-in Simulator right away to practice — no brokerage connection required.
Tip: spend time in Simulator first. It runs a compounding paper account so you can learn the dashboard and review performance before ever risking real money.
Why am I seeing a security prompt?
It's completely normal for newly released, directly-distributed software:
- Operating systems show this one-time prompt for any app that hasn't yet built up download “reputation” with Microsoft/Apple. It is not a virus warning, and it doesn't mean anything is wrong with the app.
- The installer you received is the same one every member gets.
- A-Radar runs entirely on your own computer, trades through your own brokerage account, and never holds or moves your money.
- We're adding code-signing and notarization in an upcoming release, which will remove the prompt entirely.
Updating to a new version
When a new version is released, you'll find it in your member area. Download the new installer and install it the same way — it replaces the old version. On Mac, drag the new app into Applications and choose Replace. Your settings, license, and trade journal are kept (they're stored separately from the app, in your user data folder).
Troubleshooting
Mac — “damaged / can’t be opened” keeps appearing
This just means the download “quarantine” flag is still set. Open the Terminal app, paste the line below, press Return, then open A-Radar again:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/A-Radar ATS.app"
Windows — SmartScreen keeps blocking
Make sure the download finished completely, then use More info → Run anyway, or the Properties → Unblock step above.
Still stuck?
Email support@aradartrading.com with your operating system version and a screenshot of the message — we'll get you running.
